The Kakurega Collection
Private ryokan, remote villas, and retreats known only to those who have earned their way in.
A kakurega — 隠れ家 — is a hideaway; a place one arrives at only by knowing. Japan is rich with them: mountain ryokan held by the same family for generations, a single-villa retreat reached by forest path, an artisan's home opened to perhaps a few guests each year.
This collection is our work of years. Relationships built carefully — so carefully that most of these places will never appear in a guidebook, a review site, or a social feed. They do not want to.
If you are the kind of traveler for whom being unfound is itself a luxury, the Kakurega Collection is built for you.
